EWELL COMMUNITY… Mr. Larry Butler, a resident of the Ewell Community, near Ozark, died late Thursday afternoon, July 18, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 74.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 21, 2019 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Reverend Russell Hagler officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Vivian B. Adams School, 2047 Stuart Tarter Road, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
Mr. Butler, son of the late Walter Alexander Butler and Josephine Ellerbee Miller Butler, was a native of Columbus, Georgia. He worked in the Swift Cotton Mills in Columbus before moving to Ozark in 1985. Mr. Butler was formerly employed with Sugar Creek Cotton Mill in Ozark. Following his retirement, he enjoyed going camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Napier Butler; three sisters, Judy Coker, Linda Powell, and Sandra Hall; a brother, Steven Butler.
Surviving relatives include his daughter, Deborah Burt (Jeff), Ozark; two sons, Dewayne Butler, Ozark and Edward Butler, Columbus, Georgia; a sister, Karen Tinsley (J.T.), Abbeville; a brother, Kenneth Butler, Abbeville; four grandchildren, Brittany Butler, Ashley Danner, Trey Butler, and Dylan Danner; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Butler and Preslee Strickland and one on the way, Paxton Danner; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Dylan Danner, Nash Burt, Trent Burt, Jamie Richardson, Douglas Powell, Tim Cook, and Angel Hernandez.
